For over 15 years, the Glanbia Kilkenny Business Awardshave provided businesses who demonstrate excellence within their sector and who are shaping the landscape of the Kilkenny economy, with an important platform for recognition and celebration. This year is no different. Reflecting, what we believe, is a more positive outlook within the local economy, we received an unprecedented number of nominations and applications for the awards. The adjudication panel examined 75 companies in over 200 separate categories and now 47 of those local enterprises have been short-listed as finalists in twenty diverse categories including Agri Business,Emerging New Business, Culture, Heritage & Tourism, Service Provider of the Yearand the newly introduced category Information and Communications Technology. The overall winners in each category will be announced on Saturday night at our flagship event, the GlanbiaKilkenny Business Awards ceremony in Lyrath Hotel Estate, hosted by RTÈ broadcaster Mary Kennedy. The prestigious ‘Business of the Year’, ‘Lifetime’ & ‘President’ awards will also be presented on the night. Mary Kennedy will be joined by over 450 people from the Kilkenny business community at this year’s sold-out glittering event which will celebrate the standards of excellence in business across the county.The Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce and main sponsors Glanbia, have elected ‘The Friends of St Lukes’ as their charity beneficiary at the black-tie award ceremony at Lyrath Estate Hotel.
