At the core of Langton’s is great service, our aim is to always surpass your leisure or business requirements.
Langton’s Hotel Kilkenny, operates as a hotel, with 34 bedrooms. A bar, The Langton Bar, Garden Restaurant, a purpose-built theatre, the Set Theatre, and quirky Alice in Wonderland inspired Tearooms. There also a store called Bridies Bar & General Store, which has an old world sweet shop, to the front, and to the rear, a charming bar which leads out to Bridies Garden.
Having begun the tradition in 1938 Ned & Bridie Langton ran a public house. The ‘original’ premises was a home from home for many, the boarding house above the pub was always busy and many a person began their stay in Kilkenny as a guest of Ned & Bridie. The family tradition of a warm welcome into comfortable surroundings and a delicious and hearty meal began. We now have approximately 150 staff members.
Being a member of Kilkenny Chamber is immensely helpful through training, tutorials, information training, for businesses in town. Always having the businesses at the forefront.
Kilkenny is a fantastic to place to be involved with a business. The comradery is strong between businesses throughout the city. We love welcoming the public, and meeting the clientele, and the many different personalities that walk through our doors.
Without doubt, the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been a massive struggle for us, other businesses, and the rest of the world. We have been lucky to have been able to operate our takeaway service over the last few months, but we are very much looking forward to having some normality return, hopefully over the next few months.
What is your favourite thing to do or see in Kilkenny…
There really is so much to see and do, but one would have to be the Kilkenny Whiskey Guild tour, with each premises with a minimum of 60 Irish Whiskeys and will assist in the customers experience through knowledgeable staff, tasting flights, food pairings and mixology.
Another of course, would be the beautiful grounds of Kilkenny Castle and Rose Gardens. Perfect for a family day out, or even just for a leisurely stroll.
